Hi, Zeev,
wecome to join us PLFMers!
As I understand, PLFM is only one of the three partners in the Brazil operation. ADCT will provide all the equipments needed in the project, and they will benefit from hardware sales. Telesp will take care of spectrum bands licensing, connection to local telephone systems and enlist of subscribers, etc. The only thing that PLFM has to do is to keep the airplane in the air, high in the air and uninterrupted. That is so simple. Telesp and PLFM will share the subscript fee, as I know, 50/50.
The BIG question is :
Why, in the world, would these billion dollars giants want to partner with a tiny PLFM?
This question must have puzzled many, but it is also the main drive for excitement in others.
The answer to the question is their TECHNOLOGY.
The technology is comprised of three major parts:
1. high altitude airplane; 2. the ARC system; 3. pilotless control system.
I am not quite sure how heavily is PLFM involved in the first two parts. In my opinion, it is the pilotless control system (a software program) that these partners are looking for. Otherwise they would have lined up with Angel Technology. Is their software so valuable? The answer is probably YES. Partly is because nobody else, beside the militaries, have the kind of system. I also heard that their software is very good.
Their software is so good that it can also be used to remotely control spaceships. That is how the space division come to birth.
I may have over simplified the whole thing, but this is how I see it. Every one is welcome to correct me if I am wrong. |
