Ken:
Reading TA tea leaves is not my idea of investing. You or anyone can pick up all the leaves you want. There's always more where they came from. I am comfortable with my purchase. I like buying against the trend.
I'll be the first to admit I do not know, nor to I care quite frankly, about where the stock is heading from minute to minute, day hour to hour, day to day. I used to spend all my waking moments years ago trying to pick TA trends. I could call and talk the market any day of the week. It gets deep in your blood so I know exactly where you are coming from. But for investing long term TA can be the worst tonic to take.
Now lets switch gears for a moment. Folks on this thread have heard my stories and my history, but few people know my philosophy on life: value others and always give back more than you take.
Well, along the way to investing in Nextel and investing in building a business plan utilizing the networking aspects of these phones in my industry, I have come to see a great additional benefit from this technology in helping kids, parents, mentors, communities....come together through getting to know one another while lending each other a helping hand - through "connecting."
I think we are at the dawn of a revolution in volunteerism and caring in this world - coordinated, leveraged and supported by these new digital & IP-based communication technologies. More and more people will be discovering ways we can all use technology to make this word a better place to live.
Call me foolish or whatever, but I have some very exciting ideas which are very basic, but which can elevate people by connecting them with others who want to help. Nextel's wireless dispatch technology is the perfect tool to connect people who need guidance and help wtih people who can provide direction and help. Sounds quirky and pat I know, but there's power in this equation which I am planning to leverage with some people who really care about making a difference.
Nextel will make a lot of money in the days and years ahead, but this technology can and will also help raise people up by connecting people together. I am in the process of working a plan to effect this in my local area here in Chicago. If any of you are interested in joining a larger cause to help others just drop me a line and I would be happy to bring you into some of these plans and add you to a list for future information - even perhaps in volunteering.
Kids, family, values and ethics come first in this world. I am getting tired of seeing too few people stand up for whats good and possible and right in this world. Too many people look at what's wrong and complain. We don't hear enough from those who are positive and are reading, willing and doing things to effect positive change.
Ken, I would welcome your input and help on this much more than I would your prediction about where Nextel is heading. I'll get off the soapbox for now.
Good Luck....
Note: On a separate, but related note, you can call me crazy or naive, but I really want to run the Gerry Springers of this world out of town. |
