I think the browser issue is not with adding a component to the operating system; it's the pressure msft put to bear on the box makers not to use nscp, leveraged by the OS. This is called bundling and is patently illegal if you are dumb or brazen enough to get caught. Microsoft was, and rather than acting contritely, they are challanging the doj and the states. I hope they get out the knee pads sometime soon.

btw, I am long on msft, nscp, and orcl, so I have no axes to grind. Of the three, msft has given the best roi, so I'm partial to them <g>, but I don't like their current position. I'm hoping they will re-evaluate and find a way for the administration to save face while letting them put win98 on the shelves.

On the other hand if they don't work an accommodation, they would have their first valid excuse for being late on an OS.
