I'm not a Wired critic. Prior to its slam on NETZ, I always liked the journal. Didn't read it a whole lot. But I knew about it and it seemed interesting to me.

But I'll go to my grave, believing that Wired's NETZ piece was payback journalism. I found very little, if anything, within all of its negative NETZ reporting that seemed fair or objective. It was one-sided all the way! That's opinion journalism and didn't meet standards for objectivity, in my view.

Wired failed twice to IPO and only recently had become profitable. Apparently the financial tide turned better for it as of late. It was a good sale. They'll be a lot of disgruntlement as a result, of course. I mean even Digital waited three months or so before firing thousands of employees, after its sale to Compaq. And they'll be disgruntlement there as well.

In closing, I bet you Wired won't report on its own disgruntlement the way it did on SIMer's disgruntlement when it got sold to Zulu.
