I am a little surprised. Technological factors, can be many such as
a different manufacturing process, which makes competitors entry cost
much less (a flood of chinese manufacturing maybe?), A computing
paradigm shift (maybe NC's, small Web devices etc..) causing commoditization
of the microprocessor. New inventions.....
Intel once was a memory company, and nobody at that time
thought that memory would be commodotized. This is explained in the
latest Andy Grove's book.
Intel is more exposed to these risks as compared to GE.
Because aircraft engines may be replaced, but Darn it I got to watch
that CNBC show with Sue Herara.

regards
Anthony
