All: I went to a presentation yesterday that was given by a company called Power Battery Corp which holds patents on viable miniture charging circuits. The essence of the thing was to get permission from stockholders to combine the co with another called LSM International, Inc, a Texas corp which makes & markets speciality batteries for OEM & others that have special battery needs. In talking with the fund managers that put the deal together, I found that they were well aware of VLNC & had very positive things to say, one thing being, verbatim, "We understand they are very, very close to production." Their interest in all types of battery technologies goes without saying so I would take this comment as a pretty good indication things are going well in Henderson. Of course, he did mention ULFI & several other li-poly companies that were getting there also. However, IMHO, he was most enthusiastic when discussing VLNC. Incidentally, Power Battery early on had talks with VLNC about utilizing PBY's charging circuitry, but nothing came of it as VLNC wasn't ready for it, supposedly. However, the PBY charging circuitry is synergistic with all types of battery technologies, including li-poly, so maybe things will work out in the near future, hopefully. Yesterday, too, I learned that there is only 1-2% of the specialty battery market being supplied by one manufacturer & that market is growing by 25 to 35 percent a year as more & more things become tied to batteries. With the adaptability of LI-poly to bend & twist in all shapes, it seems that there will be a huge need for VLNC's product outside of cell phones & lap-tops. Time will tell...but I thought this might be interesting on a do nothing Saturday here in a rainy Seattle.
Regards to all & thanks to all posters on this thread...Dennis
