Marc, On the MF board you posted <one of my canny correspondents thinks that Jobs is helping keep the price steady through careful timing of announcements. So perhaps we will get the kind of steady rise from Feb.-March and not the spike some of us were looking for. It's better for our core positions, though not as good for the trading positions.> I'm in agreement with your 'canny correspondents' views. Jobs (whether by accident or planned) does need to stabilize AAPL share value on a steady growth trend to promote confidence in AAPL, it's long term investors and analysts alike. I believe the latter planned 'careful timing of announcements is in fact what Jobs is doing. AAPL has the hardware, software and future technology and products to support such a plan and achieve maximum ROI to shareholders. Winning additional analysts recommendations is AAPL next marketing campaign, which I believe Jobs has already launched. Some short term investors have been successfully surfing the AAPL event wave (11/10/97 exception), buying just before the rise and selling on the dip immediately thereafter. What will be the trend this time? Will AAPL dip or remain steadfast on May 18th? Is Jobs, the big kahuna, actually in control and have a plan for the after event? Monday, May 18th will be the test. IMHO, I suspect a slight dip on the 18th--ending the week gaining over the 18th close. My 2› worth, Dennis
