Thanks for your informative answer. Your are right about the Instinet, quotes change sometimes more rapidly then the blink of an eye. I fully agree that the MM's are there to make money, however, unlike car dealers, it appears they have more than one MSRP for various clients. For your info, I use Real tick by PCQUOTE (Townsened Analytics). Since it is a dedicated line, I have an excellent service being provided by a local firm. However, there are so many things, I still lack, since it doesnt yet provide the bond tick, or the cash S&P vs futures, and other indicators for intra day trading. But the biggest attraction is the real time stock charting capability for the PCQ. Looking forward--
