Ian,

There is potential here for a new product to fill the sneaker net vacuum. A cheap IR handheld utilizing slim RAM cards would be super reliable, scaleable and just Jetsonesque to sell into the dorm room crowd with the iMac.

I have quite a few posts to read yet. Please excuse me if someone has already brought this up.
