The semi-equips were down again this week - 2 percent. This makes it
2 weeks in a row. Prior to that it was up 2 weeks in a row. There
were 11 up, 1 no change, and 29 down. One interesting item of note -
PLAB was up 11 percent the week prior and closed at the top of the
list. This week it lost 11 percent and was at the bottom of the
list.

On 2/6/98, 14 weeks ago, the Group closed at 927. This past Friday
the Group closed at 913, a loss of 1.5 percent. If the Group keeps
this up, by Xmas it will be under 900. :) All kidding aside, a base
of sorts seems to have been established. We could take bets as to
when the next "breakout" will occur, similar to the one in April of
1997. Of course we could experience several "false breakouts" as
well prior to the "real thing".
