Good question, though no magic there. The sites shown are the Renaissance Energy gas wellhead installations. Those sites use solar panels to charge the site batteries. The batteries in turn power the UIC and other instruments. The solar panel and batteries are sized to provide power after sunset even during the short winter days. This requires a very efficient and miserly control design. We have some ideas that may well revolutionize this source of power.

Other forms of energy at remote gas well sites include thermal piles which generate electricity by heating dissimilar metals with the natural gas.

Regards,

John
