When I started investing a few years ago, I started with a Fidelity Electronics Sector Fund. Finally got enough courage to buy stocks. Bought MSFT and INTC. Bought DELL after I bought one by phone after selecting my configuration via the internet. Bought CPQ on my son's recommendation. When one stock stumbled, I would cash it in and move the money into the best performing stock (except CPQ--kept it). Ended up with a lot of DELL and and CPQ. I would probably hesitate to buy DELL at this point if I wasn't already invested. I stay in because it moves so fast that a 50% pullback would only set me back a few months. I would like to get an internet stock--probably YHOO. But, the current prices seem very high. Maybe when DELL pulls back after earnings. Best of luck.
