Reese,
don't know if this is appropriate on this thread, BUT, I too have been a long time customer of Schwab, from the original Schwab One software
and also with an e.Schwab acct.
Recently transferred all of my trading equities to Yamner & Co. & left just $ and a few keeper stocks in the Schwab 1.
I suggest you and the rest of "had it customers" check out the "From the trading desk" thread on SI. Steve Goldman monitors it. He is the head trader for Yamner & Co., very informative! This is the first time I've made trades on the phone with somebody with a pulse,
and must say I extremely satisfied. They will answer the phone before the end of the second ring. They were also VERY helpful in helping the transfer of the equities (which Schwab screwed up).
At least check out "From the trading desk" to gain some real insight on how the market makers work & what the real value of discount brokers are and how they make their money from you.
I'm not affiliated with Yamner in any way, just an extremely pleased & more educated trader because of them.
