Why? Is this a trick question of some kind?
I will try and respond, but the answer seems so obvious to me that I do not understand why you are asking. First of all, if your wife enjoys being dominated, and it doesn't make you uncomfortable to be put in that role, and you are not hurting her or yourself in any way, I suppose it would be all right to do so. It would certainly set a bad example for your children growing up seeing this model, though, and I think everyone needs to be responsible when they are parenting children, and teach by example.
I was talking about dominating or beating women in general, not getting into the specifics of any given situation. I am sure some people will say that the above paragraph represents an example of situational ethics, but I don't really care. Respecting the needs of everyone involved in any situation is sometimes more important than general rules of behavior.
Okay, with that disclaimer inserted, why is it wrong? Because dominating or beating a woman breaks her spirit and damages her in every sense of the word. These actions inflict pain. It is simply evil, mean, or whatever word you want to use like that, to do these things to another human being. |
