Well, I look at LSD as a tool for a spiritual journey, not really a drug in the negative, addictive sense. It is certainly nothing you would want to abuse. But of course a recovering alcoholic would be doing well to protect himself from any chance of relapsing.
Do you have some old college roommates or 3D friends from SI who might assist you on your path here? I can think of a couple of places to start, but it would be indiscreet to name names while discussing such a sensitive topic.
In the absolute absence of a guide, it is possible to attempt this experience at home, surrounded by your immediate family, on a bright sunny day when you have absolutely no responsibilities, no places to go, no people who might drop by, or anything else where you would suddenly have to act "normal". Loose cotton clothing, plenty of stuff like really good juice, a couple of valiums in case you get tired after several hours and want to "come down" and relax before the drug wears off, and comforting items like good music are necessities.
While a guide is a very good thing, it is important not to become afraid of what is essentially almost always a very positive experience. About the weirdest thing that usually happens is that objects have lives of their own, you gain insights that you never imagined, and your face in the mirror might seem a little flushed and distorted. It is certainly nothing negative like getting drunk and throwing up a lot, and staying in bed with a hangover while remembering tiny glimpses of just how big a fool you made of yourself while overindulging!! |
