Bob,
Thank you for your kind thoughts regarding my family and myself.
If your friend gets angry when you poke holes in his beliefs, then perhaps he should re-evaluate his beliefs. Either you will kill his beliefs or make them stronger.
Inasmuch as my beliefs go, please feel free to poke as many holes as you wish. Let's start with a few clear examples: 1. Suggest to me one clear modern example/interpretation of a fulfillment of something from Revelation; 2. Suggest one clear example that supports the idea that a conspiracy is taking place; and 3. Suggest several examples which act to overwhelm you with evidence that "the time is near".
Please don't get me wrong; it's not that I'm trying to discredit your beliefs or opinions. I only want to understand the body of evidence from which you draw your conclusions. To show that the events in Revelation are current or in the near future, it is not sufficient to show that the events did not already take place in the past, since this assumes that the Bible must be interpreted literally. Personally, I think we're progressing nicely in our dialog on Revelation, conspiracy, and history, and I'd rather not push the stack just to start in on whether the Bible should be taken literally. :-)
