Thomas, of course I do not know how you tip!!! We were theorizing about broad categories of tippers, based on the experience of some of my friends who deal with self-selected groups of people who come to conventions in San Francisco.
You say you are of English descent, but unless you actually are English, from England, which I do not believe you are, this would not be a factor. It is most particularly the computer guys who come and set up demonstrations at conventions, and run booths there, and bring a lot of equipment with them, who appeared not very generous to one person I discussed the matter with. They seem to have spent a lot of time hacking and eating pizza and wearing pen protectors, but very little time learning basic social skills, or rudimentary manners for that matter. Of course, these are all gross stereotypes, and don't apply to individuals in any event, so I really have absolutely no idea how you tip.
Would you like to tell me? |
