Greetings Threaders,
You don't know me but I feel like you are all my friends since I've been lurking here for the better part of eight months. Well, I finally got the cro-bar out and cracked open my wallet to become a member. Anyway, this thread has been hugely informative and helpful for me, and it has even helped me make a buck or two. Thank you all! I will try and contribute in a positive manner as much as possible, but I don't feel that I have had all that much to offer. With your help that is all changing. Until now I have been mostly a long-term mutual fund investor, but I am increasingly becoming interested in shorter-term position and hit-and run trades. Keep teaching! You guys and gals rule!!
Anyway, am watching a couple of plays here and would appreciate an opinion - particularly technical - of the following:
XOMA - biotech seems to be reversing, or is it up merely in sympathy with ENMD/antiangiogenesis hype? Michael Murphy was a big fan of this company, but I think he bailed early this year. I think the science is strong for the long-term, but the underlying technicals are looking up. Am I reading this one right?
VSIN - Small videoconferencing player, has been establishing foothold in China and elsewhere. Been in this dog for almost a year, record backlogs may finally hit bottom line and this one COULD...maybe...finally report some profits this quarter. Nice volume and upticks last couple of days, but perhaps some resistance at 1 1/4.
VTEL - Another videoconferencing play. Looks to be reversing, pristine balance sheet.
Opinions, comments?
