Short covering ... All they will do is take the short position to paper and hold the paper till the new certs come in and then reapply the position. You can't catch an MMs short now an individual you can but not a MM

Also it takes weeks to do this and people get frustrated and sell. A lot of times you show a negative $ amount on the equity but you can sell it though.
