That is why it IS important to keep a close eye on management and their direction. Not saying that things can't go bad, but it doesn't happen over night. I think Andy and co. have made most of the right decisisons and when they tried something that didn't work well, they quickly called it quits. Their head long dive into the motherboard business is one example of when they knew they had made a mistake.

BTW, if I ever saw INTC jump into the general PC box business (a notion which John Hull has dismissed for obvious enough reasons) competing with GATE, DELL, Micron, PB, HP, Acer, Compaq etc. I would dump my shares.
