Wife beating is only an example we are using. There are many other sins I believe we could agree on. Like murder, relatively rare, but still an everyday occurance in our world, to driving recklessly which I suppose we have all done to some extent in our lives.

The question is what can we say to someone who has made this justification. Some on this thread have tried to argue that we can make our own morality, to which it seems both of us would disagree, as wife beating is clearly wrong, no matter what the beater may believe. However what can we say to convince him of this if the standard is simply the consensus of opinion?
