Hi Sam---noticed your "testimony" a few weeks back about being in a coma---and your "resurrection" from the "dead" was truly a miracle. Wow---what a story.
Sam, I once had an 87 year old neighbor that greeted me into "his" neighborhood---and we became good friends. He was a "cantankerous" fella that let me know he didn't want to be bothered about "God." Then one day I heard an ambulance over at his house, and I ran over and they were taking him to the hospital---he'd had 4-by-pass surgery 4 or 5 years before---and---so I made my way to the hospital---where he let me know in no uncertain terms (and I quote): "It's hell getting old."
I began to share my faith with him, and he would grumble---but he would let me pray with him. So each time I prayed before I left asking God to reveal Himself to him and "soften" his heart.
Well---the day came a few weeks later in the rest home---I asked him "if he were to die tonight and stand before God and God said, why should I let you into my heaven, what would you say?" He just didn't know---and said: "I don't know what to do!" I then said a sinners prayer to him and asked him if that expressed the desire of his heart. He said: "Yes" I then told him I would help him pray it---and he did!!! He called his wife and daughter after I left and told them what had happened...the upshot of it all, he was baptized and his wife couldn't thank me enough!!!
Why do I tell you this? Somehow, you remind me of my fine former neighbor---he was "gruff" with me at times, but kept allowing me to share more of my faith---the upshot was---his heart was "tenderized" and opened up to God.
A sinner's prayer: "O God, I confess that I am a sinner. I am truly sorry for all of my sins. Forgive everyone of them I pray. I now invite the LORD Jesus Christ into my heart and life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be. Thank you for forgiving my sins. Thank you for coming into my heart. In Jesus' name, Amen"
Go for it Sam.
