Gottfried, >And those waiting to buy much cheaper may just be disappointed. It doesn't help to bemoan the market's lack of reason. We're probably better off watching the charts than monitoring every announcement on Yahoo.<

I agree with you assessment. I ask myself, "What is the downside risk vrs the upside reward." At 36 3/4 AMAT, IMO, has good potential reward. I am over 100% invested including margin based on my purchase in 10/96 and waiting for $100+. With additional cash I now have available I will purchase additional AMAT.

The question is, What will happen to the stock when earnings comes out this week. From the TA charts it could pop to $40+ on good earning. Then, again it could break down and break the bull support line on poor earning and conference call.

The TA charts do look positive with a double top at $39 and potential triple top. It probably depends on how much was able to cut cost in relation to sales?

Anyone want to place bets?

Big Bucks, what are your thoughts?

Just my opinions.
