Hello Tai,

In your response to the example question you said:
"Put in an order to buy or sell and at the same time put in the closing order and a stop."

I do not know if you trade with Datek but i don't think you can tag your order as being an open or a closing order with them. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong. I know with Dreyfus brokerage you can.
This would mean than that putting in a stop loss limit order would be the safest thing to do to protect the down side risk.
