Another alliance today (below) and the stock is flat. Even FTPS software, which has lost $$ the last few Q's is moving up. NETM, as opposed to many other internet software co.s, has never posted a losing Q, however, it doesnt move. Losers and competitors like NCDI, HUMCF, FTPS have come back a little. Either something is making investors nervous about this cos. future growth potential (e.g. fierce competition, etc), or the the price is depressed beacause a takeover is imminent. NOVLs chart and trading pattern is similar, and jumped b/c it is a likely takeover (great products, huge market share, great balanec sheet). Techs were up, NOVL: announces new alliances, etc, and the stock was going down. Will NETM have the same fate Below is the press release.

Softway Systems Selects Netmanage For Windows(Tm) Nt Unix Environment
OEM Agreement Forges Long-Term Relationship for NetManage, Softway, and Microsoft(R)
CUPERTINO, Calif., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Netmanage Inc , the leading provider of standards-based IntraNet software, today announced a multiyear OEM agreement with Softway Systems, Inc., a leading provider of UNIX technology for Windows(TM) NT. Softway Systems has incorporated the X-Window server from NetManage's popular Chameleon(TM)NFS/X, into Softway's OPENNT(TM) product family. The OPENNT product family substantially benefits users and developers of UNIX and Windows NT applications by providing integration, migration and portability solutions within the UNIX operating environment. The agreement with NetManage allows Softway to fulfill a key portion of Softway's long-term contract with Microsoft(R) Corporation (Nasdaq: MSFT) to deliver a fully enabled UNIX operating system for Windows NT in 1997.
Partnering with a top X Windows server provider like NetManage represents an important step in the OPENNT project," says Doug Miller, CEO of Softway Systems. "NetManage's X features, performance and positioning constituted a promising opportunity for OPENNT, especially considering NetManage's long expertise in Windows NT applications."
Softway Systems entered into a source code and strategic agreement with Microsoft in 1995 to bring a native open systems environment to Windows NT. Softway has selected NetManage's X Window server from ChameleonNFS/X on an OEM basis. NetManage's X technology will become a critical component in Softway's OPENNT product family by allowing graphical UNIX applications to be run directly on a Windows NT system.
As businesses migrate from UNIX- to NT-based systems, OPENNT will furnish a smooth transition for developers and users alike," said Bob Williams, vice president of business development for NetManage. "We are excited to provide Softway with key X technology and NT expertise throughout this transition process."
