Report from:

biz.yahoo.com

The fact they are the second most visited sports site gives me some cause for being cautious about shorting immediately.

In my own checking of the two sites, (ESPN and SPLN) my casual observation was that SPLN had more advertising on their pages than ESPN. They also have a second revenue source from membership fees via yearly or monthly charges. Hard to believe that people would pay for more in depth sports information that is generally available for free on the Internet but who knows.

I have no hard facts except the usual about SPLN...Sales, net income, earnings forecasts, etc. I would love to know their ad rev., their rate of growth of page hits, etc.

Seems way over-priced but then again, so aren't a lot of Internet sites.

The above is not a contrary opinion to you just a little DD on my part. I plan to watch this one closely for awhile. I certainly respect your insight and DD on many stocks thus I may be making a mistake in not immediately shorting.
