Greg,
The word says many false Christs will arise and deceive many so it would be prudent to proceed slowly before assuming lord maitreya is the anti-christ. He could be the false prophet that preceeds the anti-christ's appearance. I am very interested though in finding out what part he will play. I think he has to figure prominently because the preparations for his appearance have been so long in coming and clearly planned to gain the attention of the whole world. He has been waiting decades for the proper time to come forward onto the world stage.
There are several different interpretations of the Revelation of John. Roberts view represents one and mine another. I would be careful in your studies to pray to the Lord for guidance before coming to any conclusions about Revelation. Remember the footnotes you are reading were written by men and they had preconceived ideas when they wrote them. My bible is a New American Standard and was translated by the Lockman Foundation. They state their fourfold aim in the beginning.

1. These publications shall be true to the original Hebrew and Greek.
2. They shall be grammatically correct.
3. They shall be understandable to the masses.
4. They shall give the Lord Jesus Christ His proper place, The place which the Word gives Him; therefore no work shall ever be personalized.

There is almost no commentary except the least needed to say who wrote a book or letter, when it was believed to be written, and a brief outline of the book or letter itself which only states it's content, not it's meaning. I like it because I am not learning what some men decided but from the Lord by His Holy Spirit. I did read E.W. Kenyon's
bible studies years ago and have read many books. I listen and read but always test it all against the Word and pray for the truth before I accept anything. We need to know the Word so we can test everything with the Word to see if it has holes in it.
Bob
