Glenn -- A merger of this size sends another signal that the RBOCs are preparing to compete on a level playing field with the long distance carriers. Looking at Ameritech and SBC, I know Ameritech is one of the leaders in ADSL trials and has even begun offering the service in selected areas. Of course, I'd hope this would influence SBC to pick up speed. As for NN, I'd have to look at their different histories to see who uses them and how. Perhaps others know. I'm told we'll see more mergers between networkers and telecommunications companies. I think the games have begun. Later -- Pat
