Sometimes when I trade my broker has to break my trade up into smaller portions to buy or sell all that I request. I'm not too clear on why this is done, but the broker fee stays just the same as a single trade, so I've never complained.

These small amounts could be part of a larger trade broken apart I'm guessing. It just doesn't make sense to trade so little otherwise.
