Paul, re: "Intel will convert its entire microprocessor production to 0.25 micron technology by the beginning of the fourth quarter of this year. Ireland will play an important role in that conversion.''

How 'bout that :) I bet this is playing hell with chipsets and embedded processor projects. These are normally seen as "fab fillers" at Intel, sopping up wafer starts that are abandoned by the processors. For instance the LX, PIIX4 and i740 graphics are relatively new .35 micron based products. Now they must be having to do accelerated .25 micron redesigns as they lose .35 capability sooner than expected!

I bet there are many Intel engineers lamenting, "Can't those fab boys give it a rest?". Ahhh the pains of technical progress conversions hit even Intel!
