Hi Jeff--it seems almost everyday they have a new announcement. I can not believe that Wall Street doesn't get this company. They are an acquisition candidate for sure. They will have the whole West Coast wired a la the MFST model.

GST Telecom Washington to Construct Fiber Optic Network in
Vancouver, Washington

VANCOUVER, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 12, 1996-- GST Telecommunications Inc GST Telecom
Washington Inc. announced today that is has been granted a franchise to build and operate a fiber optic network in
Vancouver, Wash.

The city has granted Vancouver-based GST a temporary, one-year franchise until it adopts a final city franchise
ordinance.

GST's planned 17-mile all-digital fiber optic network will span throughout the eastern part of Vancouver, with a
possible 22-mile expansion. In addition, GST plans a 50-mile expansion across the Interstate 205 bridge into
downtown Portland, Oregon and throughout the Greater Portland metropolitan area. Vancouver, situated in the
fastest-growing county in Washington State, boasts almost 100 information-intensive employers that have a total
employee base of over 30,000.
