That was such an endearing story! Thank you. How I envy you your little nakie baby! I'm always so surprised at people (usually older women) who make disapproving noises at the beach when they see a naked toddler. I think it's one of the most beautiful sights in the world! Certainly far more attractive than the wrinkled, fat picture the old ladies themselves present. (oooo-I'm slapping my hand...)
My son was devastatingly handsome for his prom Sat. night (no more nakie babies at this house)and his date was incredibly beautiful. I had invited her parents for drinks, my in-laws had come in for the big event, and we all were taking pictures...it was like a giant publicity appearance, flashes everywhere. They were very tolerant; we took several rolls.
For Mother's Day I received cappuccino and the paper in bed, roses, a 17" monitor, three chocolate bars and a little hat pin--oh and brunch at Outback. And even a card from Blue Kitty. The hat pin was from CW, it's a little ceramic straw hat with flowers and bows, and when I opened it, it brought tears to my eyes because it reminded me of another hat he once gave me. He was about 3 or 4 and had made it in pre-school from construction paper and glue and crayons. It had flowers pasted on it and even a paper bow. He was so proud of it! "It's your Easter Bonnet, Mommy!" I wore it for dinner that night, but on Easter morning as we got ready to leave for church, he noticed I was hatless and said, "Mommy, where's your bonnet?" What would you have done? Of course. I donned this fashionable chapeau papier whose flowers were beginning to fall off and wore it to church. Many people complimented me on it and CW was bursting with pride for of course i gave him full credit and then everyone REALLY raved about it.
So even though the little pastel ceramic pin didn't go at all with my black and white outfit, I pinned it on and wore it with tremendous satisfaction and joy. |
