Richard as I understand it, they make sludge and dore which they ship to a refiner who sometimes pays them for the extracted metal. They don't know how much they can make or how fast they can make it. They also don't know how much head feed ore from the left over highway construction enhanced pile it takes to make the sludge or the dore. They brought in an expert foreign consultant who took coc samples from the pile and then had them assayed by a non Arizona registered assayer in Henderson, NV, who rumor has it, can find gold and platinum in any ore, kitty litter included.

I have also been searching the USGS annual reports about the Oro Grand Mine back in the early part of the century and can find no reference to platinum. This is strange because they report very small production from placer deposits in CA and OR. Why would they not report small amounts from Oro Grande? This is probably enough for today, I will get ready for the flaming.
