I think today's news are bad. Rhapsody joins the long list of yes-no stop-go projects from Apple. Apple has little credibility, and all of this fudging does not help it at all.

On a different note, today's crowd was really tough. Mostly only polite applauses (I counted only three times where the audience really applauded). This is also really bad. Developers are not emotionally committed to Apple (contrast this with the audience last week).

Jobs said that nobody wanted to develop for Rhapsody. I assume used hyperbole here, but that indeed the vast majority of developers refused to develop for Rhapsody.

The stock price gave back a good chunk of it's earlier advances and I think it will gap down tomorrow morning.

Long term MacOS X might be the right way to go, but after so many fumbles who knows, and most importantly, who cares?
