If you look at the charts, I think the smart money expects the merger to be with Ascend; not Bay. Since Bay management has a track record of leaking inside information to their market maker cohorts, the lack of stock action indicates that there is nothing about to be announced.

Personally, I hope there is not an LU buyout just yet. I think Bay is on track to be back to $40 by this fall, when LU will have to pay $70. Besides, since LU can't afford 12 to 15 billion in cash for Bay right now, they will have to wait until this fall when they can use a stack swap. If there is news concerning LU and BAY, it will probably be about a collaboration that will setup a merger this fall.
