Mike I 1st read it that way also, but "it states Rhapsody"

Might be reading that press release from a different view but when you read it without assuming melding it attributes the features as Rhapsody's :

" Later this year Apple will ship the first customer release of Rhapsody, a new operating system that Apple is providing as a server platform for publishing and Internet solutions. Rhapsody contains technologies key to Mac OS X, including a microkernel-based core OS and an advanced software development environment.

As an hopeful user of Rhapsody to convert our AS/400 application code I trust Rhapsody will be a cross-platform UNIX server that can have Mac and Windows clients .

As a AAPL investor I want Rhapsody to remain platform independent so it can be licensed by "interested parties" .
