Squetch, I went back and re-read the earlier posting I got the numbers from and I was wrong. It said a total of 16,000 patients which matches your 500-1,000 new case in the US per year pretty well. But I'd guess that you can triple that to get a worldwide market (I'm looking only at the wealthy part of the world; the rest won't get treated no matter how good the drug is). So it could be a pretty reasonable little revenue stream. Sure, it wasn't profitable for Seragen. Part of the reason was the manufacturing facility. But Ligand could use that for other things as well.... I'll withhold judgement for a bit. I am guessing that Robinson and crew know exactly what they are doing. Don't forget that they are sure to have a lot more at stake financially than most of us.... Cheers, Torben
