Craig:
Like you, I'm a bibliophile when it comes to investing material. I love to learn and then apply. And I don't want to sound like a cheer leader, either, but Trading with DiNapoli Levels is a good value. Although covered in a number of other books, I particularly felt that the self-management techniques and practical money management were of value.
I've been using Cooper's patterns mostly while I try to build some scans in WOW for DiNapoli's concepts. I don't try to build systems, per se, as I don't think that's wise. Yes you have to have discipline, but you still shouldn't rely on a black box to trade your money. An alert scan however, signals that certain conditions are present, and that's the starting point for a chart study. I haven't worked out a scan that will incorporate fib retracements, but rely on chart reading. I do hope to fashion such a scan, however. Just takes time - a sometimes scarce resource.
Again, glad to see this thread come back to life - can we discuss some of DiNapoli's techniques as applied to specific stocks? I'll try to look for some potentials tonight.
