Dan,

How's everything in the Peoples State of Wisconsin? I'm sorry to hear you haven't received any good ad hominem attacks lately. How would "Ellsworth Toohey" do? I detect a striking philosophical affinity with said character in your postings <VBG>.

Equating intellectual property laws (patents, copyrights, etc.) with anti-trust is slightly bizarre. The former are valid and reasonable laws in a civilized society. The latter are more suited to Alice in Wonderland.

BTW, Bill IS politically naive. I truly believe he has no concept of the depth of the sewer in Washington DC and various state governments. And that's to his credit, IMO.

Anyway, I don't think that moving Microsoft offshore would buy them antitrust immunity, unless they chose to forsake the American market of course.

I would personally love to see the day. A big smile and both middle fingers high in the air. We would soon find out who needs who more than who. Let the scrabbling little bureaucrats and slimy lawyers write a little OS code.

Entertaining week, indeed. I'll keep a supply of Pepto Bismol handy when I feel the urge to heave.

Regards, JB
