The man was blind from birth if you would read the entire account. I think you should do this. It would do you some good. Most of the story (I'm convinced that it actually ocurred) has to do with the controversy over the healing. There were a few in the account that were in "your shoes," Sage -- explaining away the miracle. You should ask yourself what would it take to convince you that an actual miracle had ocurred?

The actual event pointed to a higher truth. At the end the Pharisees, the religous leaders of that day asked Jesus, "We are not blind also are we?" Do you want insight and understanding? Unless we look to Jesus we are only "stumbling in the dark."
