Dow Jones Newswires -- May 11, 1998 Kobrick-Cendant CEO: Stock Market Will Continue Climbing NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Kobrick-Cendant Inc. Chief Executive Officer Fred Kobrick expects the stock market to continue climbing on strong growth, good earnings and lower inflation than the consumer-price index reports. Recent earnings disappointments are the result of intense domestic competition driven by the increasingly globalized economy, not larger economic conditions, Kobrick told CNBC Monday. The executive said smart stock pickers will continue to make money on the market. "But you really have to be a good bottoms-up stock picker and make sure you're with the winners and you're not the victims of the winners," Kobrick said. Among those winners, Kobrick said he likes Advanced Fibre Communication (AFCI), Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (ANF), E*Trade Group Inc. (EGRP), Snyder Communications Inc. (SNC) and Tiberland Co.
