GEONOVA DISCOVERS COPPER-NICKEL NORTH-EAST OF SEPT-ILES
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--GeoNova Explorations is pleased to announce the
discovery of several copper-nickel-cobalt showings on its Petite
Riviere Manitou property, located some 110 kilometers North-East
of Sept-Iles and some 40 kilometers East of the discovery made by
the Quebec government. Grades reach 5.11 percent Cu, 0.95 percent
Ni and 0.17 percent Co.
After staking the property in September, the company initiated a
"Beep Mat" prospecting program. Eleven beeping areas, some
extending over 100 by 10 meters were identified. Among 24 samples
taken from blast pits, 8 (33 percent) assayed for more than 1
percent Cu, 8 (33 percent) showed grades greater than 0.5 percent
and 5 (21 percent) more than 0.1 percent Co. The main assay
results are as follows:

The showings are spread over a 4-kilometer NW-SE trending strike,
along the western hedge of an anorthositic complex.
Mineralization, similar to the government's showing, consists of
disseminated and semi-massive to massive sulphide horizons
(pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, pyrite and pentlandite), as well as
minor magnetite. Chalcopyrite is often seen as pods or stringers
in massive pyrrhotite. The long axis of the Beep Mat anomalies is
generally of E-W to ESE-WNW strike.
GeoNova has staked 56 claims located approximately 10 kilometers
East of the government's discovery, inside the restricted area
opened for staking on October 9, and covering a NNW striking
magnetic structure.
