[IATA] 'Year 2000 Executive Seminar

' Dubai, 29 April 1998

IATA's annual Information Management conference will be held in
Dubai on 26-29 April 1998. This year's programme will feature a
one-day Executive Seminar devoted to the business issues
associated with the Year 2000. The session objectives and content
are summarised below; for further details, including registration
information, please Click Here (http://www.iata.org/events/im98/).

Session 7: Testing the System - Making the Year 2000 happen
Today

It is generally accepted that testing will be the largest part of any
Year 2000 programme. But for air transport, with such a hugely
complex and highly integrated technology environment, fooling
systems to believe the Year 2000 has arrived for testing purposes
poses unique problems. How can companies simulate the arrival of
the millennium without interruption to existing services?
How can all
interfaces with business partners be fully tested to ensure smooth
operations "on the day"? This session explores the issues of
ensuring and demonstrating Year 2000 compliance through
comprehensive testing procedures.

Session 8: Staying in Business - Panel Discussion

Building on the previous sessions, speakers will form a panel to
further discuss the key business challenges and answer questions
from delegates.
