I'll check the press release but I am sure you are talking about a DSP-based FPGA that they have been talking about. They already have an FPGA line.

As early as 1992 when we did a few 3090 Xlinx FPGAs, LU (AT&T microelectronics) had the rights to fab and sell XLNX 3k family. XLNX initially used LU, in addition to using Sony, for their fabs and second-source capabilities. Their relationship went sour and LU came out with their ORCA family in 94.
