"How you decided to take the Forbes Article and single out Intel for bashing is even more perplexing."
The Forbes article doesn't mention Intel, except in table 3. I chose to write about it in the Intel thread because Intel has a stock option plan.
"Companies like Cisco, Bristol Myers, Lilly would all show losses larger than Intel.."
I don't know or even care, since I am not a shareholder of these other companies. But, given 2 identical companies with the same products, growth and profits, I would prefer the one that can do it without draining its cash flow quarter after quarter. I also believe that I am not alone.
"I hope your wishes do not come true."
Wrong: the content of the article are not my wishes. I offered it as an explanation of Intel's PE. Please, don't shoot the messenger. Instead, argue that Buffett is ignorant when he says (quoted from the article):
"Their reported costs will rise after they are bought by Berkshire if the acquiree has been granting options as part of its compensation packages. In these cases, 'earnings' of the acquiree have been overstated because they have followed the standard-but, in our view, dead wrong-accounting practice of ignoring the cost to a business of issuing options."
My primary language is French. I thought that Mike was a correct translation of my name. Please call me Mike.
