TOKYO, May 12 (Reuters) - Nissan Motor Co Ltd on Tuesday confirmed that its talks on a tie-up
with Daimler-Benz AG (DAIG.F) included possible platform sharing and cooperation with a Daimler
plant in Brazil.

A Nissan spokesman said cooperation under discussion by the the two automakers included the
following three areas:

* Mutual supply of engines and transmissions.

* Platform sharing between Daimler vehicles and future Nissan vans and light trucks.

* Technical support from Nissan for Daimler vehicle production in Brazil.

Nissan, Japan's second-largest carmaker, and Daimler announced on Monday that they were
considering an alliance in the commercial vehicle sector which may include Daimler taking an equity
stake in truckmaker Nissan Diesel Motor Co (7210.T), in which Nissan currently holds a controlling
stake of nearly 40 percent.

The announcement came less than a week after Daimler and Chrsyler Corp (C - news) said they
planned to merge.
