RE: "Do you know where did Apple get the idea for clickable icons?-- Xerox research center."

A Point:
It is my understanding that Apple openly acknowledges Xerox and paid Xerox for clickable icons and the Turtle (mouse) concepts. Microsoft just took them for free in a very controversial contract subtrafuge with Apple and the courts let them for "competitive" reasons because to do otherwise would deprive so many people of a technolgically advanced computing experience.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Microsoft does not compensate Apple OR XEROX in any way in the form of money or acknowledgement, right?

Well, right or wrong, at least it went through a court of law.

PS:I sometimes wonder how many people who post here know that Bill Gates did not invent the personal computer, did not invent DOS, did not invent the mouse, did not invent the Windows type operating system, did not invent the browser ... etc. I wonder how many people know the true history of Microsoft? I know I don't. I wonder what the DOJ thinks it knows.
