Mr. Frank Stama reports,
International Business Machines U.S. (IBM) has approved Oriole
Systems Inc.'s subsidiary, DYAD Systems to be a development
partner. DYAD's flagship application, known as the
PowerTouch-Financial Management System was developed by DYAD
for enterprise wide, budget-driven, government organizations.
Utilizing IBM's innovative San Francisco framework DYAD will
re-engineer PowerTouch-FM to maintain its competitive edge and
pursue additional business opportunities in the public sector.
IBM's San Francisco project is designed to revolutionize business
application development. The project is based on the concept of
extendible business process components, which are written in the
Java programming language. The structure and architecture of San
Francisco allows businesses to leverage IT assets and integrate with
many existing business systems. It will be of special interest to those
organizations looking for Internet-enabled, secure, scaleable software
solutions.
IBM will supply sales and marketing support through the Solution
Developer Program. Joint marketing activities include prospecting,
joint sales calls, IBM references to PowerTouch FMS in its application
catalogues, and use of IBM's software products and facilities.
An IBM San Francisco consultant will support the DYAD team for the
duration of the project with timing for a beta version of the
developed application to be delivered to an end-user by late 1998.
Frank Stama, DYAD's U.S. based vice-president stated: "This
partnership with IBM is a software company's dream. Not only will we
have marketing support, but we have an exciting opportunity to move
light years ahead of our competition in rapidly meeting the IT needs
of our current customers and targeted markets".
