Microsoft: Sun to file Win 98 suit news.com
My, Scott's piling on a bit here, I'd say. Why does everybody want to stop an OS that's supposed to sucks less? On still another front, we have
Java Developer To Sue Microsoft techweb.com
That being Rick Ross.
Given Microsoft's anti-Java actions in the past year to 18 months, Ross said, "There may even be some argument to go beyond just a level playing field -- to go to more of an affirmative action type of context, where we're actually able to seek some protection from further acts that can make our lives difficult as Java developers. They've already made it very difficult, to tell you the truth."
Standard Microsoft business practice, Rick. Embrace and demolish and all that.
But his suit would be a third-party action, he said. "I don't necessarily think that we should wait, or hope the government will take the actions that are needed here, because I think at a lot of levels, this is appropriate to be dealt with at a business-to-business level," Ross said. "I'm not asking for a new level of regulation of Microsoft. I don't begrudge them any aspect of their success."
I'd say that's fair, since Microsoft feels free to sue everybody under the sun, and Sun too as I recall. Rick better find some money someplace though.
Cheers, Dan. |
