T J Swift:

We would compete with the local phone company (LEC) by offering dial tone, Internet and cable TV as a package. We would have the latest, newest equipment and cabling, whereas the local companies are using systems that are 25 years old in some cases. We would offer dial tone and cable at lower rates than the LEC.

I think the high-speed "tier one" Internet service will be a big selling point on the bases. I have seen a study which says that 67.9% of the personnel on military bases own computers as opposed to about 20% in the general population. I can't vouch for the veracity of these findings but even if they only indicate a general trend, it's something to consider.

Remember also that our partner in this is Sprint, a big, thriving telco with plenty of resources and marketing ability.
